Design Guidelines: Brookline Park
The Purpose
The primary objective of these design guidelines is to build community character along the streets of Brookline Park. An established character can bring about a sense of belonging, and increased enjoyment of the neighbourhood and each home. These Design Guidelines exist to add value to individual properties and the community as a whole.
The detail of each house, how they relate to one another along the street, and to the broader community are all essential aspects in defining a community’s sense of place. Therefore, standards must be upheld at three levels; the community, the streetscape, and the individual home.
At the level of THE COMMUNITY, it is important to uphold overarching standards of design, construction, and materials, to ensure every end product is of high caliber, and is reinforcing regional identity.
At the level of THE STREET it is essential to build streets of diverse character, differentiated and identifiable from one another, to provide a unique niche for every buyer while ensuring compatibility along particular streetscapes.
At the level of THE INDIVIDUAL HOME it is valuable to augment each home with unique details, allowing self expression and welcoming individuality.
